You have a date with the tradition and culture of cava at Bodegas Freixenet, the country's leading cava producer and one of the world's leading brands. You'll be welcomed with a glass of cava… and with open arms just 45 minutes away from Barcelona.
The centuries-old winery
of Cavas Freixenet awaits you in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia
in the heart of the Penedès county. You'll find out the secrets behind the success of this family business which now owns different wineries in some of the leading wine-producing regions of the world and exports to more than 150 countries.
A short audiovisual will tell you the story of cava and Freixenet and show you how the sparkling wine is made, combining tradition, innovation and state-of-the-art technology. Afterwards, you'll be able to visit the oldest part of the winery, where the wines are resting, and travel through the underground cellars on a miniature train. At the end of the tour you'll be served a glass of cava, and the kids will be given a glass of grape juice.
And before you leave, you'll be able to buy any Freixenet products at the Dolors Ferrer by Freixenet
shop. A perfect plan to enjoy wine tourism in Catalonia
