Dive into the world of pirates on this immersive tour, and learn about the history of this fortress.
Castelldefels Castle was built in the 10th century on Iberian and Roman ruins dating from the 3rd century BC
. Perched on a hill standing 59m above sea level, it boasts views of the Garraf Massif and Barcelona, overlooking the southern part of the Llobregat Delta. The castle was used to defend the land from Arab invasions and pirate attacks.
The castle remained abandoned for a time, until the banker, Manuel Girona, commissioned the architect, Enric Sagnier, to restore it in 1897.
It is on the list of Spanish National Heritage Landmarks.
