Reial Acadèmia de Farmàcia
The Reial Acadèmia de Farmàcia de Catalunya was originally part of the Barcelona section of the Real Academia de Farmacia (Madrid), which was set up on 14th January 1944 as an initiative of the academics who belonged to the association and were living in Barcelona: Dr Taurino Mariano Losa España, Dr Ramon San Martín Casamada and Dr Guillem de Benavent Camps.

As you walk through the cloisters of the former Hospital de la Santa Creu you'll come across the original hospital pharmacy dating from 1417. It's the oldest one in Europe and is currently home to the Reial Acadèmia de Farmàcia de Catalunya.
The academy is housed in one of the rooms of the former Hospital de la Santa Creu de Barcelona and occupies most of the space where the hospital's pharmacy was once located.
Inside you'll find the furnishings that have been perfectly preserved, the original ceramic medicine jars and the window dating from 1696, which was used to dispense the medicines.
