You have a date with the tradition and culture of cava at Bodegas Freixenet, the country's leading cava producer and one of the world's leading brands. You'll be welcomed with a glass of cava… and with open arms just 45 minutes away from Barcelona.
The centuries-old winery
of Cavas Freixenet awaits you in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia
in the heart of the Penedès county. You'll find out the secrets behind the success of this family business which now owns different wineries in some of the leading wine-producing regions of the world and exports to more than 150 countries.
A short, 12-minute audiovisual in the screening room will tell you the story of cava and Freixenet. The visit continues with a tour of the centuries-old cellars, including the deepest one, 16 metres underground. You’ll learn fascinating details about the wine-producing area, grape varieties and how the different cavas are made. At the end of the visit, you’ll sample two glasses of cava on the terrace of the Cava Bar or inside if the weather doesn’t allow.
And before you leave, you'll be able to buy any Freixenet products at the Dolors Ferrer by Freixenet
shop. A perfect plan to enjoy wine tourism in Catalonia
