An antique-collecting gem

Favourite

Guided tour of the Fundació Pla Armengol, inside the Mas Pla Ravetllat in the Guinardó district, an exhibition space dedicated to the arts and sciences, with a large collection of furniture and decorative objects from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.

ADVANTAGES:

Far from the bustle and noise of the city centre stands the Mas Pla Ravetllat, a magnificent mansion that was the laboratory and home of Núria Pla (1916-2011), a pioneer of pharmacy and collecting in Catalonia and the daughter of the eminent physician and pharmacist Ramón Pla Armengol.

During her father's forced exile following the Spanish Civil War, Núria Pla took over the reins of the family business and, guided by her passion for culture and art, amassed a magnificent collection of furniture and examples of the decorative arts.

A collection rich in artistic value, with each object of unique interest: secret compartments for jewellery, optical illusions created by mirrors, theatres hidden inside writing desks, objects from overseas…

Join in this journey to the past of Catalan pharmaceutical history through the eyes of one of the most eminent Catalan families of the 20th century.
