Barcelona's Barbier-Mueller is the only museum in Europe dedicated exclusively to pre-Columbian works of art (from 1500 BC to the 16th century). Its collections comprise more than 300 exhibits, and it is one of the finest in the world, providing visitors with the opportunity to see a wide range of representative objects from several pre-Hispanic cultures, including Mesoamerica, Central America, Andean America and the Amazon region. The sculptures, ceramics, textiles and ritual objects on display give us an insight into the spirit of a period in history which changed the concept of the world with the discovery of a new continent.

This is one of the world’s most prestigious collections, and has been loaned by the Museu Barbier-Mueller in Geneva (Switzerland) to Barcelona City Council.
